This beautiful old pony truss bridge crosses Wedges Creek in a very rural part of Clark County.
Originally built in 1881 as a pair of pony truss approach spans to the Hudson Bridge, the spans were combined and moved here in 1902.
This bridge is identical to another bridge in Le Sueur, Minnesota. This type of truss was common before the turn of the century, especially on former Chicago & North Western lines.
It features a riveted type of connections, as well as stone substructures.
The author has ranked this bridge as being regionally significant, due to the age of the bridge and the unique double barreled design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge can be seen from a nearby road.
